I am an Australian, currently living in Madison, WI. Since moving to North America I have lived in New Brunswick, Canada and Socorro, NM. I have a PhD in Geology from Monash University in Australia, and am currently a part time Associate Lecturer in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the Unveristy of Wisconsin in Madison.
I have been taking photos since high school (in Canberra, Australia), but got seriously into photography while enjoying the beauty of the Socorro area in New Mexico. I am now trying to make a part time living selling my photographs.
About the Photos
I use Canon cameras, previously an Elan II (film camera), now a G3 and a 10D (both digital). My lenses include the 17-40 mm f4, 28-105mm, 50mm 1.8, Tamron 90mm macro, and 100-400mm.
Slides and negatives images were scanned with 4000dpi Nikon scanner. All images are optimized with Photoshop on a Macintosh; currently I use a Powerbook. I calibrate my screen with a Colorvision Spyder. Prints are produced on an Epson Photo 2200 printer, using Enhanced Matte Paper. This combination of pigment inks and matte paper ensures that the images are of near archival quality. Panoramas are currently printed on Epson Premium Luster Paper; this paper is also creates images which are near archival in quality. Other papers are available on request.
The images on these pages are low resolution, and highly compressed. In order to truely appreciate these photos the actual prints must be seen.
